Microgreens are young plants harvested when they are just 1-3 inches tall. This early harvesting results in intense flavors and concentrated nutrients.
-
They contain the nutrients of a fully grown plant, condensed into a smaller form. Additionally, they offer more intense and diverse flavors.
-
Microgreens are grown in soil and harvested with their leaves, whereas sprouts are typically grown without soil and consumed as germinated seeds.
-
Microgreens are a great addition to any sandwich, wrap, smoothie, and more. They also work well as a garnish.
-
Store your microgreens in the refrigerator in the eco-friendly packaging they come in. They typically stay fresh for up to 2 weeks. The best-by date is conveniently printed on the top of the package. Note: Basil microgreens should not be stored in the fridge.
